Changing Out A Bad Hard Drive

The very center of the system that you have is going to be the hard drive. This is the core of the whole process and it is most likely the part that you are going to have to change. As such you have to be sure that you are making it all happen and you can be sure that you are not taking things in the wrong way overall.

We can see that we need to be on top of the deals that are regarding the hard drive. Some times when one is going to go bad you get some warning. This can come in the form of blue screens or maybe just a major slow down overall. That also means that you need to be sure that you are keeping your eyes open to it.

In other cases the hard drive will give you no indication that it is about to fail. This means that you are going to be sitting there with the computer that will not boot up and that means some bad things for those that are trying to work. So you have to be sure that you are working the system out correctly when this happens.

That is why we are going to look at how you can change out the hard drive when it goes bad. In many cases people are seeing that they have the best chance of making this happen while working the system out. You will see that changing the hard drive is not at all hard to do as long as you know what you are doing as such.

Case Removal
The first thing that you need to do is remove the case. This is difficult to do unless you have had the case open in the past. The real deal is to make sure that you are not causing a shock which could fry the hard drive. What you have to do is make sure that you ground yourself and then you can move to the next phase.

Screw Removal
Then you will need to remove the mounting screws from the old drive. They are going to be the "X" head screws and there can be as many as six of them. In most cases they are clearly visible but there might be the chance that some bundle of wires is hiding them. So you have to look around when doing this.

Unplugging
The last phase is the actual unplugging of the hard drive. You can do this simply by pulling out the wires that are attached to it. But you have to be careful to not bend any of the pins. You should pull them straight out and that will help you be sure that you are getting all that you can from this deal and then moving on.

So you must be sure that you are getting all that you can from this process. Many people are doing this every day and there is nothing that should stop you from doing it either. All you have to do is make sure that you are being very careful with the deal.
